The legendary Bob Marley once sang the lyric "Good friends we had, good friends we lost," which pretty much sums up this situation perfectly.

Times change, people change and situations change. That's life.

Generally speaking; is it better for one to try to cling on to the past and try to fix what has irretrievably broken down? Or should one look towards the future and concentrate on forming new and better friendships with others?

I suppose it depends on how much you value what you have lost. Often online friendships develop into something very sincere but this doesnt happen with every person you meet. More often than not the social interaction between online posters consists of nothing more than meaningless daily greetings to a person you have never seen. Should one really care if this is lost?

The only real power each of us holds in the online cyber world is the ability to make our own decisions. Let everybody decide for themselves to whom they wish to be pleasant and to whom they do not.

The greatest respect each of us can show is to simply allow each other to interact with whomever they please.

Good post El, and sentiments I have more or less been banging on about for a while now.... ""The only real power each of us holds in the online cyber world is the ability to make our own decisions. Let everybody decide for themselves to whom they wish to be pleasant and to whom they do not""....I'll go with that.. Very Happy

""The greatest respect each of us can show is to simply allow each other to interact with whomever they please"....I'll go with this as well. I might also add, respect isnt somethings thats a given, it has to be earned. But civility towards folk should be applied at all times imo. And while i'm on a roll i'll say this..Aint it about time the childish, and quite frankly, rediculess name calling was layed to rest? I think by now we all know how the land lies, and I would also hope everyone can be treated as an individual and not just a member of any particular group... Lets Put Things In Perspective? 193827
