After hours of tinkering with the site's source code I have now managed to enable file attachments! (Well, the truth is I stumbled across the option in Admin 
)
When you post a message if you scroll down you will see the add attachment option. Using this option you can add your own personal MS Word documents, Home movies and favourite MP3's.
