Who is to blame? Mother or Daughter?
Who Is To Blame?
This is an interesting analogy (or at least I thoguht so when I came up with it last night! lol) Try to answer honestly and I will post what the analogy is later..
A pet shop opens at the bottom of a road. A little girl sees a kitten and immediately wants it. She runs home to her mother and asks her if she can have the kitten.
The mother refuses at first because she knows her daughter is too young to have the responsibility of looking after a living creature. However, the child, desperate to have the kitten, begs and begs and begs and promises to look after the kitten and feed it every day until the mother relents and buys the kitten.
Eventually the child loses interest and forgets to feed the kitten and one day it passes away as a result of neglect.
Who is responsible for the death of the kitten? The mother who deep down knew the kitten wouldn't be looked after properly by her daughter? Or the child who simply behaved as expected?

Re: Who Is To Blame?
Thankyou for taking the time to read and vote. Now I'll explain what the analogy is...and ask whether once you've read it your vote remains the same...
The kitten represents the welfare state. Like a kitten, the welfare state needs to be well looked after, nurtured, and fed regularly with tax otherwise it starves and dies.
The little girl is the third world immigrant, desperate to enter the UK and prepared to say whatever they think the Government wants to hear in order to do so.
Finally, the mother is the Government. Despite knowing deep down the level of immigration is crippling and killing the welfare state more and more immigrants are being let in.
The reason for this analogy is because I often see a great deal of resentment levelled towards immigrants and perhaps not enough blame levelled at the Government for allowing them to take advantage...
Anyway, thanks for indulging me :-)

Re: Who Is To Blame?
That is quite right EL, some immigrants are doing what they see as the best for their families and as long as they abide by our laws and work i personally don't have a problem with them always remembering there is only so many jobs, house ect. But some are here because we are an easy touch they have no intention of working and turn to crime as an easy way to make money or milk the system without putting anything back in.
The Government MUST look after the interests of it citizens ensuring we do become over populated and there is enough jobs for us all but most of all they must be tougher on the scroungers, people will get away with what they can it is human nature and the government must do what they can to protect us. All parents must learn tough love so must the government.

The mother is not entiely to blame here , she allowed the cat to come in the home yes , but the little girl was supposed to look after the cat .
the cat itself was not soley defenceless , cats kill and look after their own as im sure most immigrants do anyway , needless of the laws of the land in which they reside .

It's still the 'mothers' fault. If I lived in dire straits with my children I would do anything to make life better for them. I would certainly travel to a country where this was offered.
