Re: Tuition Fees?
I agree...i have no problem paying for childrens education...but a degree means you can walk into a job earning twice as much as a normal worker.pay it back!

Quite right, Chels. Why should a dustman, who earns less than 20k pay for a graduate to study and get a job for 40k? Children's education is important, but further education should be paid for by the students themselves. There should, however, be student loans, readily accessible by all.
As regards children's education, Chels, my opinion is the money is poorly spent.

Because, put cimply, the individual worker can't.
If we want to see people from all walks of live fulfilling their potential then the bottom line is we need to give some of those people a helping hand.
Alternatively we do nothing and the rich once again become the ruling elite.

I think you missed my point about 'everyone' having access to 'loans', El.

Re: Tuition Fees?
Oops. I did tbh lol
But...
For loans to be readily accessible to all one of two things has to happen.
1. The banks work co-operatively with the Government and pay out these loans. I just can't see shareholders agreeing to that though. It's too high risk as there's always going to be a certain number of graduates that don't get that well paid job and default.
2. The loans are from Government money. If this is to happen, where is the money going to come from? Inevitably the taxpayer anyway.

Re: Tuition Fees?
Quite right, El, but with the difference: the money borrowed is repaid. Simple.
