Chilean scientists are baffled by a huge, gelatinous sea creature found washed up on the southern Pacific coast and were seeking international help identifying the mystery specimen. The dead creature was mistaken for a beached whale when first reported about a week ago, but experts who went to see it said the 40-foot-long mass of decomposing lumpy gray flesh apparently was an invertebrate. Chilean scientists look at the creature near Puerto Montt, July 1, 2003. Scientists said on Wednesday that the huge mass may be a rare type of giant octopus or just discarded whale blubber. An ecosystem is a living community of plant and animals sharing an environment with non-living elements such as climate and soil.
Ecosystems exist on a variety of scales. An example of a small scale ecosystem (micro) is a pond. A medium scale ecosystem (messo) could be a forest. The tropical rainforest is an example of a very large ecosystem (biome).
Sunlight is the main source of energy. This allows plants to convert energy by photosynthesis.... Mother nature has seen to it that everything has a place, an all can live and thrive in a perfectly ballanced way. And when there becomes an abundence of any kind that might threaten that ballance... She has the answer..
